JOB DESCRIPTION – TEACHER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEACHER:
To impart knowledge and skills to bring about the intellectual development of students
To instill moral and social values in students that are essential to the development of good global citizens
To help in the physical development of pupils in order to facilitate healthy living and thereby improve the quality of life
Preparing, researching and presenting appropriate lessons
Providing suitable feedback on student development


TEACHERS ARE EXPECTED TO COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING:

Understand and appreciate the school’s philosophy
Explain and reinforce school policy and priorities
Ensure the school’s standards and norms are applied, observed and pursued.
Set examples to colleagues and students
Create the optimum atmosphere for learning and interaction in the classroom and monitor the general progress of pupils
Adopt a firm but understanding approach in guiding and disciplining students
Be present and punctual
Inform the school before the school session begins when taking medical leave
Be discreet and respectful of confidential information and matters
Understand and be sensitive to political, historical and religious issues in Vietnam

AS MEMBERS OF A TEAM, TEACHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO:

Work in close co-operation and harmony with other members of staff in the interests and
needs of students (principal, nurse, co-teachers, enrollment staff, marketing team)
Develop interest in professional advancement by improving their skills, knowledge and
methodology
Promote school projects
Help maintain school discipline
Abide by the directives of the school and Senior management regarding national,
educational and other policies
Accept reasonable duties assigned by the principals
